The WINNERS.. Hoosier Daddy?

All but 6 of the kids... notice Harrison's goggles? He was so glad Bry's team won. He said it was because Bryan is the strongest man alive. I tend to agree!

And the winner is.....

This weekend in Bloomington is a bicycle race called the Little 500. It attracts thousands of people to watch teams of 5 ride a bike around a track. We thought it would be fun to take the kids to but when we mentioned our plans to someone they acted surprised. When I asked why they repiled " its considered the biggest party of the whole year.." Considering that this is a college town that likes it booze we decided against going. We were excited when we heard that the MBA school was going to put on its own race, The little, little 500. Bryan's friend John put the team together and it consisted of most of the dads in Oak lawn. Us wives saw a great opportunity to tease our spouses, so we made t shirts with this photo (see above) on them.

It was so fun! The very best part- They won! I think it was Logan's move on the grass and Joe's tongue that made all of the difference!

Update...

Just for the record.. that is root beer that they are drinking. This picture was taken in front of the Red Brick Store in Nauvoo. I love Harrisons face! We met with the doctor and she is awesome! Kamryn is having Absence seizures (petit mal seizures). Here is what the mayo clinic website says about them:

Absence seizure — also known as petit mal seizure — involves a brief, sudden lapse of conscious activity. Occurring most often in children, an absence seizure may look like the person is merely staring into space for a few seconds.

Compared with other types of epileptic seizures, absence seizures appear mild. But that doesn't mean they can't be dangerous. Children with a history of absence seizure must be supervised carefully while swimming or bathing, because of the danger of drowning. Teens and adults may also be restricted from driving and other potentially hazardous activities.

Absence seizures can usually be controlled with anti-seizure medications. Many children outgrow absence seizures in their teen years, though some may eventually develop grand mal seizures.

So what does that mean for Kamryn? She takes anti-seizure medication everyday. ( 6 a day!) I was doing ok with things until I had to pick up her new, stronger medication and the pill bottle was/is huge! I hate the thought that she is dependent on meds but am so grateful that there is medication to help her. She goes in once a month for blood tests to check to make sure her liver is doing ok. She still can't ride a bike, or swim until they are under control. We have seen a huge decrease in the seizures and hopefully within the next week not see any at all. The doctor told us that these type of seizures hit in early childhood and then again between the the ages 9-10 -which happened with Kamryn. We still have to watch for grand mals but so far so good! We hope that she will be able to grow out of them in a few years. She is doing great! We feel blessed that she is doing so good and that there is medicine that can and does help her led a normal life! We are so grateful for all of our friends and families who have prayed and fasted on our behalf!
