Dr. Bunker

Last week Bryan's professor asked him to stay after class so he could talk with him. The professor starts by saying some really nice things about Bryan.. he's great student, always comes prepared, very smart, handsome and a great kisser. Wait- those last two things he didn't say but I was thinking them when Bryan was telling me this story. Anyway, he goes on to say that he has done some research and thinks Bryan should continue on and get his PHD. He said Bryan would be a great teacher and that he should start looking into programs and start next year. It would only be another 4 to 5 YEARS of schooling. (insert a look of horror on my face) My first thought was "oh no.... he's going to do it "... Bryan talked about it some more with his professor and told him "I would love to do it but my wife would kill me..." ( I will neither confirm or deny that I would do that ; ) ) After telling me this he said "What do you think?" I then told him how I felt ( very nicely and calmly) and let's just say we will NOT be addressing him as Dr. Bunker.

Tree Lighting

We went to Bloomington's downtown lighting of the Square party on Friday. We went with my cousin Emily and her family. It was really cold and the people who talked talked for along time. One of the speakers had 3 pages of things to say. Thank goodness for Buzz and Woody and a snowman walking around so Harrison could be entertained for a while! It was fun to go and do something we had never done before!

Thanksgiving!

We stayed in Indiana for Thanksgiving and had a great time! It rained and rained! Bryan came home soaking wet and muddy from playing football! Thank goodness he was all in one piece. We had dinner at the MBA school with five families in our ward and it turned out great! We had a HUGE kitchen, big screen tv's and plenty of room to run and play! I cooked my very first turkey! It turned out great and was very tasty. (as long as no one got food poisoning I consider it a success) We had so much food! Amber and I went shopping on Black Friday. We braved the cold and got up at 3:30. Target was so packed we could not even walk down the aisle! We were able to get all that we wanted and we were home by 7:00. It was a nice quiet week made even nicer because Bryan had the whole week off.

Fall Happenings...

We had a neighborhood Halloween party with a cake walk, crafts and a doughnut eating contest! I also threw a Halloween movie night for the kids. It started out with 10 kids then quickly grew to 25 kids in our tiny place! The kids had a great time. I did not get any pictures.. I was too busy cleaning up popcorn!
We enjoyed a beautiful fall with great warm weather!

We went to IU homecoming Parade! We had a great time and the kids got lots of candy! The best part was seeing our friend John join the parade with his Irish dancing moves! It was the highlight of the parade! Just look at his height and pointed toes!
Kamryn played CoEd soccer. She didn't really like playing with boys this fall but she did great and learned how to aggressive!

Oh Brad...

A few weeks ago Brad comes running into the house sobbing. He had gotten his elbows stuck in some handle bars from a riding toy of Harrrisons. We pulled and pulled and laughed and laughed. He didn't think it was too funny. After about 10 minutes we finally got it off with the help of Pam cooking spray. Now you might not think that that was funny and why would we laugh? It's only because he had done the EXACT same thing the night before! We thought he had learned his lesson.. we were wrong! Let's hope the second time around will teach him!

Happy 9th Birthday Brad!

Brad turned 9 yesterday! We can't believe how old he is getting! He was so excited about his birthday all we heard for days was.." I know you won't tell me but did you get me a ... ? (insert any # of toys here) I finally had to say " If you ask me to open a present one more time before Monday I will take all of them back..." He LOVES birthdays! He started his day off with Kamryn getting up and making him breakfast. She made eggs, toast, cereal and juice. Then he talked us into opening his presents before he went to school. We had cupcakes for the neighborhood and then went to dinner as a family. Here are 9 reasons why we love Brad!

1. He has a very tender spirit.
2. Love to read.. he reads ALL the time!
3. He has the BEST laugh!
4. He is very smart.
5. He tries to do his very best.
6. He is ALWAYS singing or humming.
7. He can make friends easily and is friends with everyone.
8. He looks out for the underdog. (we love that but when he is in a game he worries more about who is hurt or knockdown than whats going on in the game!)
9. He is a great brother to Kamryn and Brad.

A few weeks ago I was in Brad's class helping out and I had a couple of girls in the class come up to me and say .."Brad is the best boy in my life." Then they all told me how kind he is to them! Love you Brad!

Happy Halloween!

Kamryn and Harrison got the best treats... Harrison got a dollar because a house ran out of candy and passed out money. Kamryn got a free bagel from Bloomington Bagel!

We had a great Halloween! Kamryn was a Punk Pirate, Harrison was Mario and Brad was Luke from Percy Jackson. We had a fun filled week with school parties, neighbor parties, ward parties and finally trick or treating! I love Halloween but by the time they go trick or treating they are tired and worn out from all of their fun!

We are headed to.....

We are happy to say that we have a job! Well, once he is finished with school in May. We are really excited to be headed back to Delaware and DuPont. Bryan LOVED working at DuPont this summer and they liked him- so off we go. When we started school we wanted to end up in the east coast and we did. We will have family within 1 1/2 hours from us which makes living in the east even more exciting! Having a job has made the second year of MBA school so nice. He is home more and he is able to enjoy school more because he has no more interviewing to do! We can't believe how fast time is going.. I never thought I would say this but I will really miss Indiana and school. Yes- you read that right we will miss being in school! (but a paycheck will be really nice! )

Harrison starts Preschool!

Harrison started preschool this month! He was so excited to go. The night before his first day he came and told me he had is bucket ready. (they use buckets instead of backpacks) So after he went to bed I looked inside of his bucket and this is what I found- A notebook, his box with glue and pencils, and a lunchable. All of which he did not need. He is loving school and I am enjoying having 3 mornings a week to myself! On a school note.. I am the only one in our family who is not currently in school! Bry is back at Kelley finishing his last year of MBA school! Only one year to go!

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
On a side note- Harrison says the funniest things.. here a few of his latest!

While saying his morning prayer " Please bless that I will have an awesome day with my awesome spiky hair!

We have pink eye going around school and our neighborhood and upon hearing that Eliza has pink eye he takes off and runs to her house. When I finally catch up to him I ask him what he is doing and he says " Eliza has a pink eye and I want a blue eye so I am going there to see if she can give me a blue eye!"

Crazy kid!

24th of July

The kids and I were able to fly to Arizona to spend some time with my parents before they left for their mission to teach at BYU Hawaii. It was great to spend time with both families while we were there. We were able to drive to Utah with Bryan's mom and spend the 24th with her in Panguitch. We had a great time! The morning of the 24th at 5 am they shoot off cannons to start the day. When the first one went off I thought someone had run into our car so I jump up and throw back the curtains ready to catch whoever crashed into the car. Then Arlene told me it was the cannons! It scared me to death. I was ready to chase whoever... no bra and all! They have a great parade and the kids got a lot of candy! At the end of the parade the fire truck sprays everyone who wants to get wet! It was great! We had a fun filled weekend playing ping-pong, liar, speed, war, running around the track and of course eating at Henry's! Stephanie and her family were there with us and we had a great time with her boys! Harrison still asks to play with Austin! We can't wait to go again!

First Day of School!

We moved back to Bloomington just in time for the kids to start school! We can't believe how old our kids are getting. Kamryn started 5 th grade and Brad is in 3rd. Harrison will start pre-school in a week. I have no idea what I am going to do with myself 3 mornings a week!

KK turns 11

Our sweet daughter turns 11 today! We can't believe that she is so old. It seems like just yesterday that we brought her home from the hospital. She was been the BEST daughter. Here are some of our favorite things about her:

1. Her laugh. She has the best belly laugh.

2. She is so smart. She loves school and does very well. We never have to ask her to do her homework - she always completes it before we ask about it.

3. She loves rocks. Since she was about 1 year old she will find and collect rocks that she likes. She still comes home with pockets full of rocks!

4. She loves to sew and knit. She always has her knitting needles with her so if she has time she can work on her project.

5. She is not afraid to share the gospel. She is a great missionary!

6. She is so good to her brothers. Even though she wishes she has a sister she still loves to play with her brothers (even if it is Super Mario Brothers).

7. She makes great eggs and toast for breakfast. In fact she is so good at making them that the boys would prefer her to make them.

8. She LOVES soccer. She is really good at goalie but LOVES to play forward.

9. She has the most beautiful hair but HATES to have me comb it for her. It is so thick and curly!

10. She loves to play any type of game. You name the game and she will play it.

11. She has a strong testimony of the gospel and is the kind of girl that makes us so proud!

Happy 11th Birthday Kamryn! We love you!

It was the Best of Times, It was the worst of times

We went to Washington D.C. for the 4th. We met our friends the Browns and the Powells there and we were all excited. What better place to celebrate the 4th than our nations Capitol.. or so we thought. But first things first. On Saturday we all met at my uncle's house who throws a small.. (think 500 of your closest friends) 4th of July Celebration. It was Awesome! He had breakfast, games, a great program, slides, swings for all 500 people. We then headed over to Gettysburg. It was fun to see and need to spend more time there. Not the 2 or more days that Jen wants too but one more day. We then went to the big wooden slide that we always go to when we visit my uncle. I did not get a picture of the slide this time but did get a picture of Harrison's chin. He hit on on the way down his first time. He did not go down again.

On the fourth we went into DC. We took the metro into DC which the boys loved. As it turns out that would be the one of a few highlights of the day. It was HOT! A cool 98 degrees. So we walked and walked and walked . After a hour we went into the air and space museum to cool off and meet the Browns there. Another highlight- sitting in McDonalds and eating ice cream for over an hour. Did I mention it was HOT and VERY crowded. What were we thinking? WE walked around some more and threw down a blanket so we could watch the fireworks later on. To encourage people to not steal our blanket Ty and Bry threw some Hanes underwear on it. (don't worry it was new and not used) Oh and just FYI we do not carry around underwear all the time. Ty gave some to Bry as a joke so we happened to have some with us. Our plan worked! The people around us steered clear of the blanket!

We walked around more.. Who knew the biggest and loudest part on the mall would be an India festival? Didn't anyone know it was the 4th?

We could not wait for the fireworks to begin. After a long, hot day of fighting crowds we hoped the day would end with a great firework show. It was good... all 12 minutes of it. We could not believe it! 12 minutes? We waited for hours to see it. Logan summed up the day perfectly but I can't say what he said.. just use your imagination. To top it off it took us over 2 1/2 hours to get home. It was us and 500,000 of our closest friends trying to get on the metro. Lesson learned. As Bry told the boys " I hope you remember this day because you will never do it again!" If you are wondering why there are no pictures of Kamryn she is in New Hampshire with her aunt and uncle.. Lucky girl!
